Militant group Anakbayan claimed that school administrators including the Chancellor and several college deans have endorsed their students protest action on Friday against President Benigno Simeon Aquino, III.
Thousands of students nationwide are set to “Walkout against BS” on March 13, Friday and press for the resignation of the president over the Mamasapano offensive, tuition hikes and corruption.
Students from the University of the Philippines, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, University of Santo Tomas, University of the East, Eulogio Amang Rodriguez Institute for Science and Technology, National Teachers College, and many others are set to hold campus “Blackout Protests for Justice.”
In UP, campus administrators including UP Diliman chancellor Michael Tan and several college deans have endorsed the protests, said Vencer Crisostomo, national chairperson of Anakbayan.
Similar youth protests will also be held in Baguio, Pampanga, Laguna, Iloilo, Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, and Davao City.
“We call on Napenas to spill the beans and tell all against the president. We also call on his allies to stop the cover-up and join the people’s movement for truth and accountability. It is time we take action for change; we no longer want a lying haciendero as president,” Crisostomo aid.
