DAVAO CITY – Authorities from San Pedro police have apprehended three violators of the anti-smoking ordinance Tuesday.
Jimmy Avila, 38, a resident of Bayugan, Agusan Del Sur, and Albert Moraizon, 32, a resident of Mati, Davao Oriental were caught in the act of smoking cigarettes along the terminal of Gaisano Mall of Davao, and Cabaguio Avenue respectively.
Meanwhile, another violator identified as Enya Antecristo, 19, a resident of Uyanguren, was caught along Narra St., Brgy. 30-C.
They were just some of the many smoking violators to add up to the 4,396 violators on the New Comprehensive Anti-Smoking Ordinance of 2012.
The city’s Anti-Smoking ordinance issues tickets to violators which will allow them to either contest the violation in court or to voluntarily pay the P500 fine to avoid being criminally prosecuted within three days from apprehension.
