THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) will conduct an exhibit on October 2 to 5 at the Atrium of the Gaisano Mall of Davao.
The four-day consumer fair, which will carry the theme “On the healthy and safe sides of living”, will showcase products and services that are healthy and safe both to consumers and the environment.
The fair will highlight the products and services with product standards (PS) and import commodity clearance (ICC) marks, occupational safety equipments and supplies, Halal food, fortified food, organic and sustainable products, herbal medicines and supplements, physical fitness products and services, and other health and wellness commodities.
DTI regional caretaker and assistant regional director Marizon S. Loreto said the theme being carried by this year’s consumer fair re-affirms the global shift towards sustainable products and services.
“It can be observed that a lot of people have become more health-conscious nowadays. We often hear our colleagues and friends, and even family members, talk about the latest diet and exercise regimen that have been discovered lately. This is one manifestation that more people have changed their lifestyle for the better,” Loreto said.
Moreover, Loreto said, the increasing number of spa shops and fitness gyms is another indication that there is indeed an upward trend of people patronizing these healthy lifestyle-oriented spots.
The consumer fair will be staged in collaboration with the Consumer Action for Sustainable and Healthy (CASH) Lifestyle Network, City Government of Davao, and Gaisano Mall of Davao.
The CASH Lifestyle Network is a conglomeration of organizations and individuals who support sustainable consumption of safe and healthy products.(PIA)
