DAVAO CITY, Philippines — A taxi hailing mobile application is set to be launched here Tuesday, December 19.
The “HirNa” application is the first taxi application that unites a number of taxis in one app. The application is a collaboration between Avis Global, Avis Philippines and the Metro Davao Taxi Association (MDTA).
The launching will be held at the Grand Men Seng Hotel here on Tuesday. Among the guests are City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, Land Transportation Franchise and Regulatory Board chairman Atty. Martin Delgra III, MDTA President, Atty. Rogelio Largo, Transwealth Fleet Management Corporation President Francisco Mauricio and Globe Enterprise Group Sales Head Meanne Quiambao.
In a previous interview, Largo said the hailing app will provide services “comparable to, if not better, than those services offered by these alternative mode of transport.”
The app will be composed of a special feedback feature where passengers can report problems such as misbehaving drivers, malfunctioning taxi units, among others.
During her State of the City Address in September this year, Duterte Carpio encouraged taxi operators to invest in “a single Davao Taxi app and an official taxi complaint site” to keep the taxi industry relevant and efficient. (davaotoday.com)
