DAVAO CITY, Philippines — Various Davao media outlets gathered for the culmination ceremony of mass communication students’ internship training in Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) on Friday.
About 20 media companies attended the ceremony and includes Davao Today, Brigada FM, State of Mind Channel, and Manila Bulletin are just few among the attendees.
Celebrated on World Teachers’ Day, the event aims to recognize and commend partner media outlets who taught and helped train and develop the skills of the 4th year mass communication students of AdDU.
Practicum professor Josyl Hey-Aquilam thanked partner media outlets for their continued support and patience towards the student trainees.
“I hope that you would also bear with us for the next years of training students,” Hey-Aquilam said.
Partner media companies also expressed their gratitude to the student trainees for their hard work and massive contribution to the industry.
“I see a lot of potential in this batch of students,” IdeaHub IT Solutions supervisor Brent Jimenez said.
Student interns also gave their appreciation for the 200-hour training experience in various media fields of print, TV, radio and private communications.
“It was fulfilling to have finished 200 hours of training and exposure outside school,” mass communication student Vanesa Duma-an expressed.
Despite the hectic hours of training, mass communication student and Humanities and Letters Cluster Representative Jana Tabligan still find the experience as helpful and valuable as it prepares her for the future life ahead.
The event is concluded with a pizza party for students for their accomplishments and contributions to the Davao media outlets.
More than the certificates and rewards, the student trainees received new learnings and skills that would make them the best in the industry in the near future. (Cyntelle Joanne Saguan/davaotoday.com)
