Davao City has the biggest number of registered voters in the southeastern Mindanao region with a total of 750,662 from all 5,542 voting precincts scattered in the citys 182 barangays.
This figures were gleaned from the office of the Commission on Elections (Comelec), Region XI as the city braces for the conduct of the national elections for senators, congressmen and the different LGU elective positions on Monday, May 14, 2007.
The Comelec Electoral Statistical Data also revealed that the whole region has a grand total of 2,226,165 number of registered voters comprising Davao del Sur with 481,002, Davao City with 750,662, Davao del Norte with 428,823, Compostela Valley have 317,369 and Davao Oriental with 248,299.
Davao City has the highest ranking in terms of voting population also listed the most number of registered voters in a district with a figure of 300,529 divided in all 54 barangays of the Ist District. The second district has 251, 272 in all 46 barangays while the 3rd District has 198,861 in 82 barangays.
The top ten voting centers in Davao City have 123,135 number of registered voters representing 17 percent of the total 750,662 registered voters in 5,542 established precincts of the citys 182 barangays.
Of the top ten voting centers in Davao City the Bucana Central Elementary School of the first district has the most number of registered voters with 19,784. This was followed by the following: Jose Porras Elementary School 16,511, Buhangin Central Elem. Sch. – 16,029, Elpidio Quirino Elem. Sch. – 11,879, Ma-a National High Sch. – 14,523, Quezon Elem. Sch. – 8,935, Catalunan Grande Elem. Sch. – 8,494, Jose Bastida Elem. Sch. – 8,396, Dumanlas Elem. Sch – 7,804 and Doa Asuncion Elem. Sch. – 7,680.
