Each year, the Philippine Science High School admits 240 students in its Diliman Campus, and about 90 students in its Southern Mindanao, Ilocos Region, Western, Central and Eastern Visayas, Bicol Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Mindanao campuses to its freshmen year.
On its second year a limited number of scholarship slots become vacant due to failure to meet the needed academic requirements and willful abandonment of scholarship grant.
To maximize the utilization of resources of PSHS, qualified students are admitted to fill the vacant slots. These students should belong to the upper 5% of their class and or should have a grade of 85% and above in all subjects. They should have a character rating of at least VS (Very Satisfactory) provided that they do not have a pending application for immigrant status in a foreign country and they should pass the accreditation examination in Mathematics, Science and Communication Arts (English).
Applicants for Academic Year 2007-2008 must submit a fully accomplished application form with two recent 1×1 ID pictures, endorsement and certification by the Principal of the school where the applicant is presently enrolled plus a copy of official transcript of records and non-refundable testing fee of P75.00. The deadline for the submission of application is April 27, 2007.
The Accreditation Examination will be administered in the following PSHS Campuses, Main Campus in Diliman, Quezon City, Southern Mindanao in Davao City, Western Visayas in Iloilo City, Eastern Visayas in Palo, Leyte, PSHS Bicol Region in Goa, Camarines Sur, Cagayan Valley in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya, Central Mindanao in Tubod, Lanao del Norte, Ilocos Region in San Ildefonso, Ilocos Sur and Central Visayas Campuses in Argao, Cebu on May 2, 2007.
