DAVAO CITY—The head of the military’s Eastern Mindanao Command is mulling to enhance the capacity of the Task Force Davao.
In his courtesy visit to the City Council regular session on Tuesday, July 12, Lt. Gen. Rey Leonardo Guerrero, who was also the former Task force Davao Commander in 2010, said additional armed forces assets to be deployed here will not only address the security in Malacañang of the South inside the Department of Public Works and Highways compound in Barangay Panacan here, but will also “address the concern in maritime boarders and the security of Davao City in general.”
Guerrero assured the members of the city council of “the continuing support of the East-Min command especially now that we are in the midst of change having the former mayor as the newly elected president of the Republic of the Philippines.”
“With this development here in Davao City, we anticipated that we will have to come up with innovations and improvement in our security,” he said.
During his speech, Guerrero said that he already gave the directive and instruction to the newly installed Task Force (TF) Davao commander Colonel Henry A. Robinson Jr., Davao City Police Office City director Sr. Supt. Michael Dubria and Police chief Superintendent Manuel Gaerlan of Police Regional Office 11 to beef up security measures.
Guerrero replaced Lt. Gen. Aurelio Baladad who retired on November 21, 2015. (davaotoday.com)
