DAVAO CITY – Third district councilor Bernard Al-ag confirmed on Tuesday the resignation of Councilor Tomas J. Monteverde as chairperson of the committee on transportation.
“I think he has been filing sick leave for 22 days now, so I am assuming that he has a health problem. That’s all the information I have,” Al-ag said.
He added that Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte is currently looking for candidates to head the committee.
Al-ag said Councilor Leo Avila, who also heads the committee on environment, has been working for the transportation committee during the past weeks.
Al-ag said it is difficult for one councilor to handle two big committees.
Meanwhile, Al-ag denied the rumor that Monteverde felt hurt being replaced by him as a floor leader last year.
“I don’t think so. Maayo man ang amoang relasyon last year nga nakambyuhan siya, ok man wala may problema (We have a good relationship after he was replaced last year, there was no problem), ” Al-ag said. (davaotoday.com)
