DAVAO CITY – The Department of Agriculture (DA) turns over P50 million-worth of agricultural and fishing support interventions to the farmers and fisherfolks in Mati, Davao Oriental last Monday.
Davao Oriental Governor Corazon N. Malanyaon said that the turnover ceremony “showcased the efforts between the national and local governments on addressing the problem on poverty and food security.”
Malanyaon said that because of the partnership with stakeholders, and proper implementation of programs and projects of the local government, the province “earned different awards in the field of agriculture which serve as testaments to its genuine efforts and sincerity to improve the lives of its constituents.”
The P50 million is funded under Typhoon Pablo Rehabilitation Program, which includes corn seeds, fertilizers, cruiser insecticides, and vermi composts. (davaotoday.com)
