DAVAO CITY – Twenty two painted carabaos were paraded during 3rd Ugmad Festival held in Tagum City last Friday.
Tagum City Mayor Allan Rellon said the festival “is a way in which we honor our farmers and a way of giving importance to the different agricultural products of our city.”
During the festival opening, carabaos with their carroza full of farm produce paraded in the event dubbed Carroza y Pintados de Carabao.
Barangay Pagsabangan was awarded as the best Carroza while Mr. Robert Rasos got awarded as first placer in the Pintados competition.
The theme this year is dubbed, “Mag-uuma: Produktibo… Pang-Internasyonal” (Farmers: Productive, Internationally-competitive).
The festival will also offer a forum that will teach farmers about the latest trends in farming and agriculture to boost their productivity.(davaotoday.com)
