DAVAO CITY – During his program Sunday, Mayor Rodrigo Duterte said that somebody is paying for his political advertisement.
“My advertisement which airs almost ten times (a day), that is very expensive. Somebody is spending for it,” Duterte said.
He said that some of the contributors are his Chinese friends.
“There are several of them I am suspecting. These are millionaires from Davao,” he said.
The mayor said he has talked to the people behind this and told them not to waste their money on him because he is not running.
“I told each one of them that I am not running,” he added.
“What will I get if I run for presidency? I am already 70 years old and we are not rich,” Duterte said. (Diana C. Tomale/davaotoday.com)
