DAVAO CITY – The enforcement of speed limit here will resume on August 17, with 29 traffic enforcers to be redeployed in the city’s main thoroughfares.
Executive Order No. 29 which limits the speed of vehicles at 30, 40 and 60 kilometers per hour was temporarily suspended by Mayor Rodrigo Duterte following the alleged mulcting activities by some traffic enforcers.
The enforcers come from the Traffic Management Office, Traffic Group of the Davao City Police Office, Land Transportation Office 11 and the Highway Patrol Group 11.
In a Philippine Information Agency dispatch, Rhodelio Poliquit, chief of the TMO said that all deputized enforcers are required to wear their respective identification cards issued by the city government before they watch the streets against speeding motorists.
Poliquit said the new ID card which is part of the complete uniform must be worn all the time.
The ID measures at 5.5 X 8.5 inches and contains the emblazoned name of the enforcer, the corresponding logos of the city government of Davao, and the Traffic Management Office and the corresponding telephone numbers which can be called for complaints.(davaotoday.com)
