DAVAO CITY — The Tagum City Chamber Chorale bagged the top prize in the 2015 Government Chorale Competition held last Tuesday at the Cultural Center of the Philippines.
The 33-man chorale, which bested seven other choral groups in the country, performed a rendition of Freddie Aguilar’s “Anak”, “O Magnum Mysterium” and Noel Cabangon’s “Ako’y Isang Mabuting Pilipino” during the competition.
Regular and casual employees of the local government form part of the said choral group which was founded in 2013.
In a City Information Office dispatch, Tagum City Mayor Allan Rellon congratulated the chorale saying “the triumph of the chorale group should inspire Tagumenyos to dream big and work hard to see that dream being fulfilled.”
Declared as runners up in the competition are the Supreme Court Chorale (first), Napocor Choir (second) and Dipolog LGU Chorale (third). The Tagum City Chamber Chorale was awarded with a plaque and P200,000 cash prize. (davaotoday.com)
