DAVAO CITY – The City Council of Tagum has installed its second Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representative (IPMR) on Monday.
Datu Damiano Cipro, the barangay tribal chieftain of Barangay Canocotan, took his oath of office for a three-year term as IP representative to the 6th City Council eight months after the death of former IP Rep Datu Rudy Onlos.
Mayor Allan Rellon administered Cipro’s oath in the presence of city government employees and officials, and tribal leaders during the regular flag raising ceremony held in front of the city hall.
On April 13, the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) released a certification affirming the selection of Cipro. He will chair the Committee on Public Information.
