A teacher in Tagum City who was reported injured in a shooting incident on Wednesday night succumbed to her gunshot wounds.
The victim was identified as Ethel Celis Zapanta, 29, and a resident of Magugpo East Tagum City.
A still unidentified gunman riding a black ladies’ type motorcycle shot Zapanta at 6:45 pm. The gunman pretended to deliver important documents when he was heard looking for the teacher.
The police authorities were able to recover two fired cartridge cases believed to be from 9mm pistol.
The victim who sustained gunshot wounds on the right back and right chest and was pronounced dead on arrival in a local hospital.
Police Inspector Anjanette Tirador, chief investigator of Tagum City Police Office, said that they see personal grudge as the motive behind the teacher’s killing.
Tirador said that they are now on a lookout for the mastermind of the crime but refused to divulge the identity of the suspect.
