DAVAO CITY — THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) 11 is urging all small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the region to join the upcoming trade fair in New Jersey.
The trade fair, tagged as Philippine Fiesta, is slated on Aug. 18 to 19 Meadowlands Exposition Center (MEC) in Secaucus, New Jersey, USA.
The activity is anticipated to put on display/on sale products from the Philippines and USA while showcasing the best of Filipino culture and heritage.
According to the Philippine Fiesta organizers (which include Josephine Romero, Commercial Attach in New York), the exhibitors and vendors at the Philippine Fiesta make solid connections with the Filipino-American consumers in the East Coast which comprise a sizeable segment of the fast-growing and strong community of over 2.3 million people in the U.S.
Moreover, the organizers said the affluent market has an estimated US$52 billion annual disposable income.
Trade Assistant Secretary Merly M. Cruz said the local SMEs must grab this opportunity to build a strong relationship among Filipino-American consumers in the said state.
Cruz added that by joining the fair, SMEs will likewise further their knowledge on doing business with the said market segment.
This Filipino community in New Jersey can be a catalyst for them to widen their market in the US. And thats one prospect which they can look forward to, she said.
Davao Regions SMEs may contact the DTI Field Offices in their respective provinces or they can get in touch with Ms. Mary Rose Borinaga of DTI 11s Trade Development Division (TDD) at (082) 224-0511 local 415.
