Graduates of various skills and courses this year can now register with the biggest jobs search system of the country.
According to the Department of Labor and Employment, fresh graduates can register with the PhilJobnet where they can access to thousands of vacancies along with employers in need of professionals and workers with technical and vocational skills.
A memorandum of agreement has been forged between DOLE and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
The CHED, according to labor secretary Arturo Brion has asked its regional offices and covered higher education institutions (HEIs) to operationalize the MOA providing the registration of Batch 2007 with the PhilJobnet.
The Phil-Jobnet System is DOLEs computerized jobs and skills matching system accessible on a 24/7 basis in the Internet. It functions as the countrys basic Labor Market Information (LMI) system under the supervision of the DOLEs Bureau of Local Employment. It is accessible globally and locally to both job seekers and industries through its website address, http://phil-job.net.
Brion said the MOA provides for the registration of graduates in the Phil-Jobnet system prior to the issuance by the CHED of the necessary Special Order (SO).
Registration may be done through the Internet facilities in their schools or at the nearest CHED and DOLE regional office.
Registering the graduates with the PhilJobnet Brion said will benefit not only the graduates but employers in search of skills. It also allow graduates search for jobs that makes them economically active upon graduations.
The employers on the other hand will also have a fast and ready access to a list of graduates they need for their manpower requirements. (PIA XI/prixdbanzon).
