GENERAL SANTOS CITY The first Chief PNP Cup National Table Tennis Championship is set on April 4 to 6 at the Mr. Big Shot Sports Center here.
It’s a tournament for the PNP in honor of our chief Police Director General Arturo C. Lomibao, said tournament director PO3 Jose Ortalla Jr.
The categories are the men’s open single, women’s open single, boy’s 13 years old and under and girl’s 13 and under.
Expected to see action are PNP officers from Manila, Bacolod, Davao, Cebu, Iloilo, Cagayan de Oro, Isulan, Zamboanga, Dapitan, Cotabato, Surallah and General Santos City.
Cash prizes and medals will be given away. Police Senior Superintendent Alfredo Toroctocon and Table Tennis Association of the Phils. (Tatap) national president Victor Valbuena are also the invited guests.
PO1 Henberd Ortalla, a native of General Santos City, is the early top-favorite in the men’s single. He was the silver medallist in the World Police and Fired Games held in Canada. (Lito delos Reyes/davaotoday.com)
