DAVAO CITY – An official of the Department of Social Welfare and Development Administration said they have delisted around 68,000 beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) as of January this year due to various reasons.
Dr. Priscilla Razon, regional director of DSWD, said they have delisted the beneficiaries “because they failed to meet the conditions of the 4Ps.”
The poverty reduction program has set conditions for beneficiaries to avail cash grants including: attending responsible family development sessions for parents or guardians; pregnant women must get prenatal and post natal care and be attended by trained professional during child birth; children aged 0 to 5 years old must receive regular preventive check-ups and vaccines; and that children must go to school.
Razon said those delisted have either not sent their children to schools, failed to attend the family development sessions or “they failed to submit for health services.”
“There are also cases where the family transferred residence and they cannot anymore be located but oftentimes the reason for the delisting is because of their failure to meet the conditionalities,” Razon said during a press conference here Monday.
She said others were also delisted “because of the grievances filed like they should not be included in the list of the beneficiaries because they are not really poor, and they are not really supposed to receive (grants).”
“There are also feedbacks about their behavior in the communities, nag-totong-its lang (they are only playing tong-its). They are not in good relation with the community or member beneficiaries,” she said.
Razon said “complaints are discussed during the municipal action committee meeting and are elevated for delisting purposes.”
She said delisted beneficiares must reapply “for them to be included again”.
“This will be reviewed by the municipal action committee. They will recommend whether they will be delisted or they will be retained,” she said.(davaotoday.com)
