UP Mindanao has 3 magna cum laude, 42 cum laude this year

Correction: The University of the Philippines Mindanao will have three magna cum laude and 42 cum laude graduates. The university also has nine undergraduate programs.

DAVAO CITY — The University of the Philippines Mindanao will have three magna cum laude and 42 cum laude graduates for its 19th Commencement Exercise on Tuesday, June 28.

On its Facebook page, UP Mindanao said the students who will graduate as Magna Cum Laude include: Claire Marie S. Jacinto and Omid J. Siahmard from BS Biology, and Kim Dianne B. Ligue from BS Applied Mathematics.

They are among the 258 graduating students of UP Mindanao.

The university has nine undergraduate programs: Bachelor of Science in Biology, BS Agribusiness Economics, BS Food Technology, BS Computer Science, BS Applied Mathematics, BS Architecture, Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts,  BA English-Creative Writing, and BA Anthropology.

The BS Biology program has the highest number of graduates with 45 students, including three cum laude and two magna cum laude.

The BA Communication Arts has 44 candidates for graduation with 17 cum laude; BS Agribusiness Economics has 28 graduates with three cum laude; BS Food Technology has 24 graduates with three cum laude; BS Architecture has 22 with one cum laude; BA English has 18 with seven cum laude; BS Computer Science has 18 with two cum laude;BA Anthropology has 17 with four cum laude; and the BS Applied Mathematics has 18 with two cum laude and one magna cum laude.

Meanwhile, 22 students will also graduate from the Master in Management program.

The commencement exercise on Tuesday will be graced by UP President Alfredo Pascual. (davaotoday.com)
