DAVAO CITY — Some P128 million worth of farm to market roads (FMR) is scheduled for implementation under the Mindanao Rural Development Program under Phase 2 and will be spread out in the six regions of the island.
In a list of projects distributed to the press it stated that the scope of work of farm to market road varies from rehabilitation, upgrading, rehabilitation and new construction.
Region IX has seven projects amounting to over P70 million. Once completed it will allow products to penetrate the market easier. Among the produce in the area are rice, corn, copra, banana, coconut, rubber, calamansi and rootcrops.
These FMR projects are the rehabilitation of Bella-Bagong-Buhay Tandiong, rehab/upgrading of Dawa-dawa to La Paz, rehab /upgrading of Naga-Naga to Kapatagan Road Segments all in Alicia, rehabilitation of Bobuan-Datagan-Matin-ao Balukbahan-Sigacad of Bayog, rehabilitation of Logpong-sitio Boom and the rehabilitation of Barangay Coloran-Paruk, both projects located in Siay, and the rehabilitation of Tigbalogo-Igat Island of Margosatubig.
Region X has one FMR rehabilitation project which is the LaLibertad-Pulang-Yuta-Tipolo in Kapatagan. Products in the area are corn, coconut, banana and rootcrops. Region XI has one FMR construction in Purok 3A-Purok 3B worth P2.6 million in Compostela where agri products are rice, coconut and banana.
In Region XII the Poblacion-Tagbac-Magkalaam-Kinarum-Kirungdong needs rehabilitation with a funding cost of P8.9 million. Products grown in the area are coconut, coffee, rubber and banana. Region XIII also has one FMR needing rehabilitation in Los Arcos-San Lorenzo in Prosperidad worth P6.7 million. Agricultural produce include coconut, coffee, rubber and banana.
The Autonomous Region for Muslim Mindanao has four projects which include the rehabilitation of Bakkaw Bakkaw-Maraning, construction of Gang-Macaguiling, concreting of Damaniog Bridge Approach, and rehabilitation of Parangan Darul-Arkam.
Total funding cost amounted to over P24.5 million. Agri products included rice, corn, coffee, copra, banana, and cassava. (PIA XI/prixdbanzon)
