DAVAO CITY — Government turned over 110 fishing boats to selected marginal fisher folks in Sta. Cruz town, Davao del Sur as part of the assistance from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Region XI.
Mayor Joel Ray Lopez and Provincial Fishery Officer Carlito Aclao assisted the turn over of the fishing boats to the recipient beneficiaries from various barangays of the said municipality.
Lopez thanked the bureau for selecting his town as he reminded the recipient fisher folks to always observe the appropriate ways of fishing.
“We have always been thankful to the assistance given to us by BFAR. This will be a very laudable program to our fisher folks. I just would like to encourage all our fisher folks here to be responsible especially in observing the close-season for fishing and to use appropriate fishing methods,” said Lopez. (davaotoday.com)
