DAVAO CITY – The Army and members of the New People’s Army encountered in Tugbok District here Friday morning. In a statement to the press, First Lieutenant Alexandre F Cabales, acting chief of the Public Affairs Office of the 10th Infantry Division said the incident happened in Barangay Manuel Guianga at around 9:00 am.
Cabales said the encounter lasted for 40 minutes before the NPAs abandoned their camp.
“Recovered from the encampment were two improvised explosive device (IED), backpacks with personal belongings and several magazines,” said Cabales.
Cabales added that a civilian auxiliary was slightly wounded on the legs “while it is believed that there were wounded among the rebels as evidenced by bloodstains in their withdrawal route.”
