DAVAO CITY — In preparation for the Sto. Niño festival, the City Transportation and Traffic Management Office will implement a re-routing scheme for vehicles passing along Shrine Hills Matina this city.
Rhodelio Poliquit, CTTMO chief bared their plan to temporarily convert the Shrine Hills road into a one-way street leading to Sto. Niño Shrine.
“From McArthur Highway going to ABS-CBN, that is one way. Also Pluto Street going to Shrine Hills is one way while City Garcia Street Diversion Road going to Abs-cbn is two-way,” he said.
He also said this is done for the security and safety of the people who are expected to join the celebration of the fiesta.
“We are avoiding accidents so we implemented the one-way route,” said Poliquit.
For those who will bring their vehicles during the festival, Poliquit said a parking space is provided at the upper area of Shrine Hills which is on “first come, first serve basis”.
He added that if parking spaces at the upper area is already filled, they will require the car owners to park at designated parking areas located in GSIS Village. (davaotoday.com)
