DAVAO CITY —The provincial government of Davao del Norte hosted earlier today Press Freedom Month celebration participated by different local media with a theme “Katungod ug Respeto Ipatigbabaw sa Malahutayong Pamahayag”.
The celebration is pursuant to the proclamation of Gov. Rodolfo del Rosario last 2008 declaring every October as Press Freedom Month.
“The media is vital in increasing the transparency and accountability in our decision making processes and communicating the principles of good governance to the society,” Del Rosario said.
The media practitioners also participated in the Medialympics held at the RDR Gym, Davao del Norte Sports Complex. (davaotoday.com)
