DAVAO CITY — The Police Regional Office 11 has deployed more policemen to secure the Commission on Elections offices in Davao region as the filing of certificate of candidacies (COCs) started Monday.
Superintendent Antonio Rivera, spokesperson of the PRO 11 said their primary concern is to institute order in the conduct of filing the COCs.
In a Philippine Information Agency dispatch, Rivera said policemen make themselves visible to ensure the safety and security of both the candidates and their supporters.
“Our primary concern is to ensure order and the safety of all people who are in the premises of the Commission on Election offices in all cities, provinces and municipalities in the region,” Rivera said.
Chief Inspector Milgrace Driz, spokesperson of the Davao City Police Office said that policemen are instructed to include in their visibility patrol the vicinity of the offices of the poll body in the Ramon Magsaysay Park where poll body offices for Davao City’s first, second and third districts are located.
