DAVAO CITY – The Army on Sunday said members of the New People’s Army burned one Saddam truck and a Delica van in Sitio Mangway, Barangay Pintatagan, Banaybanay town in Davao Oriental Saturday evening.
In a statement to the press, Captain Alberto Caber, chief of Public Information Office of the Eastern Mindanao Command, said “more or less 50 members” of the NPA burned the vehicles at around 7:00 pm Saturday.
He said there was no casualty reported.
According to initial investigations by the local police, the Delica van was “totally burned, while the tires of the Saddam truck were damaged.”
Caber added that they received reports that the NPA fighters responsible for the incident “were headed by alias Bansai or Pakat of Southern Mindanao Regional Committee of the NPA.” (davaotoday.com)
