DAVAO CITY – The commander of the Task Force Davao claimed no civilian was hit during a military operation that killed New People’s Army commander Leoncio Pitao alias Ka Parago in Barangay Panalum, Paquibato District here last Sunday.
Colonel Macairog Alberto on Tuesday cited the investigation conducted by the Scene of the Crime Operation of the local police.
Meanwhile, Senior Superintendent Vicente Danao, Jr, director of the Davao City Police Office said policemen assigned in the far-flung barangays of the city were ordered to be alert particularly in the districts of Paquibato Marilog, Baguio and other areas.
“We are even guarding the place of Kumander Parago’s wake,” he said.
Danao also said that Parago’s comrades may visit his wake, so long as they do not carry weapons, explosives and that they have no standing arrest warrants.
Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte on Monday night called for the NPA and the AFP to have a ceasefire during the wake of the NPA leader. (davaotoday.com)
