DAVAO CITY – Spectrum Philippines, the producer of the famed Invasion Tour, is kicking off the party with its first stop here in Davao City.
The Invasion is the festival party that caps some of the grandest fiestas in the Philippines with their drum beats, dancing, feet-stomping and local flavors that can be found in this caravan touring the four major cities in the Visayas and Mindanao.
Ken Onozawa, the CEO of Spectrum Philippines said that works have been done the past six months “to deliver a spectacular party experience for everyone and that they are upgrading the festival experience working with local entities”.
“We will be infusing a cultural aspect in the show that will feature the native festival elements of each destination which is something that has been lost in most of the festival parties,” he said. Onozawa said they aim to showcase the culture of the hosting city.
The Invasion Tour also features a custom-built stage set up with a state-of-the-art technology which is being built in Iloilo City and will be used for the whole tour.
They will also set up a Fair Park Night Market where one can find local flavors, street foods, refreshments, festival merchandise, and games from participating brands.
To ensure the Davaoeños a grand festive experience, Spectrum Philippines said it is working with FrolicFox Productions, the producers of SummerFrolic – the annual summer music festival in Mati City.
Spectrum Lifestyle Experience, Inc. And FrolicFox Productions “share similar values and the mission of gathering locals and tourists to enjoy each other, have a good music, and in promoting Mindanao tourism,” Onozawa said.
“The Invasion Tour is created to be an official festival party that caps the cultural festival to draw more tourists and to promote tourism in Visayas and Mindanao,” he added.
He said the date for the Invasion Davao (Kadayawan) would be announced this August, Invasion Bacolod (Masskara) on October 17, Invasion Cebu (Sinulog) on January 17, 2016, and Invasion Iloilo (Dinagyang) on January 23, 2016. (davaotoday.com)
