DAVAO CITY, Philippines – The city government has earmarked P42 million budget for the month-long celebration of Pasko Fiesta this December.
The Christmas celebration here will formally open on November 23 at the Rizal Park with the ceremonial lighting of Christmas lights in the city hall building.
City Tourism Officer Generose Tecson bared the activities prepared by the LGU for this year’s Pasko Fiesta celebration
Tecson said the theme for the celebration is “Winter Wonderland” with decorations on blue and white color.
The month-long activities include Pasko Fiesta Concert with the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, Pasko Fiesta Carnival, Parol sa mga Barangay, Pasko Pahalipay sa Barangay, Belen Exhibit sa Museo, Pahalipay ni Santa, Kahayag sa Pasko, Pasko Kasadya, Pasko Kumbira sa City Hall, Koro Pasko, Siyam ka Kadlawon, Panayegon sa Davao, Banda Dasig, Pasko Daba-Daba, Koro Pasko. The city has also organized new activities like the Pasko fiesta Salu-Salo, Sayaw sa Pasko Fiesta dance competition, and Lamdag Parada (Lighted Vehicle Parade)
On December 18, there will be a year-end Christmas party for the LGBT community.
Pasko Fiesta para sa mga Lumad that will run from December 1 to 16, will still be held in the lumad communities in Davao.
During the Christmas day, the City Mayors Office will hold Pasko Fiesta Pahalipay 2018 program on the morning and Yugyugan sa Pasko Fiesta street party on night at the Rizal Park
Torotot Party will be back on December 31 during the New Year’s Eve.(davaotoday.com)
