Davao eyes direct flights to Bohol

DAVAO CITY, Philippines — The City Council wants the national government to open direct flights connecting the Davao and Tagbilaran City in Bohol province to invite more tourists and investors here.

City Council committees on Tourism and Beautification, and Transportation and Communication, in a joint resolution, requested President Rodrigo Duterte to open inbound and outbound routes connecting the two cities Tuesday, September 27.

The request was coursed through the Department of Transportation and Communication, including the Department of Tourism.

In a City Information Office dispatch, Councilor Conrado Baluran, chair of the Committee on Transportation and Communication, said the island of Bohol is “one of the most attractive tourism destinations in the country.”

“Based on studies and tourism statistics, a daily average of 2,000 local and foreign tourists choose Bohol as their destination.Most of these tourists also wish to visit Davao,” said Baluran.(davaotoday.com)
