DAVAO CITY, Philippines — The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Davao Region (PDEA-11) confirms the existence of party drugs in the City, an official said.
“We have a reliable information that party drugs is here in Davao but our major problem is that we cannot easily penetrate these groups because they are selling drugs just among their group of peers,” PDEA-11 Assistant Regional Director Atty. Ben Joseph Tesiorna told reporters in a press briefing.
According to the source of PDEA-11, most of those who were noted to be involved are minors or who have just reached the legal age, and young professionals.
“They are hard to penetrate as of now but rest assured, once we will be able to penetrate them, the next is apprehension,” Tesiorna said.
The PDEA-11 is currently strengthening the evidences against the youths who are into party drugs.
“We are under our surveillance, but we don’t have substantial evidence yet,” Tesiorna said.
According to Tesiorna, their source said the party drugs they have noted in the city are ecstasy and liquid meth.
“Some youths are also involved in marijuana,” he said. “In fact, we recently recovered some in a posh residence here.”
Recently, the PDEA also arrested 9 minors from January to this month due to solvent use and drug runners and couriers but none have been apprehended for party drugs.
The PDEA-11 is yet to divulge further information once they get more evidence against those who are bringing in party drugs in the city. (davaotoday.com)
