DAVAO CITY – President Beningo Aquino III will be visiting Davao City and the Island Garden City of Davao on Wednesday.
In a Philippine Information Agency dispatch, PIA 11 said the President is expected to arrive in the Island Garden City of Samal “to conduct an inspection of the Samal Circumferential Road project at around 1:25 pm” where he will be joined by Department of Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez and Department of Public Works and Highway chief Secretary Rogelio Singson.
The circumferential road is a convergence project of the DPWH and the DOT under the Tourism Roads Infrastructure Program (TRIP).
The President will later meet the students of Teodoro Palma Gil Elementary School in Davao City who participated in the Treevolution of the Young, a tree-planting activity conducted by the Supreme Pupil Government of the school and the SPG Federation of the Davao Central District.
The President will be joined by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Secretary Ramon Paje and Climate Change Commissioner Mary Anne Lucille Sering.
PIA said the visit is the President’s response to the invitation of Jurijunn Juri M. Lopoz, president of the Supreme Pupil Government of T. Palma Gil Elementary School, who personally handed a letter to President Aquino in Malacañang inviting him to the activity.
The visit will culminate with President Aquino’s attendance to a gathering of friends and supporters later in the afternoon at SMX Lanang. (davatoday.com)
