DAVAO CITY, the Philippines — In a modest yet inspiring celebration on June 12, Radio Mindanao Network-DXDC celebrated its 46th anniversary. The staff, their families and friends, were present at the station’s office along Anda Street, to mark the occasion.

Broadcasting at 10,000 watts, DXDC is the city’s most popular AM station. It has consistently ranked No. 1, according to surveys by the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkasters sa Pilipinas. The reasons for this, according to consultant and popular commentator Alex Roldan, is the professionalism of the staff, something that they had collectively vowed to achieve.

Another factor is the station’s commitment for the welfare of the staff and personnel.

Station manager Dodong Solis said the station and the staff are all committed to public service and to the people. At the same time, he said, the station supports advocacies for media welfare and press freedom.

During the celebration, former DXDC staff whose careers began at the station reminisced about their days there and were optimistic that they would duplicate elsewhere what they have learned from RMN-DXDC. Many of these formers staff are now working as managers of RMN stations in Marbel in South Cotabato, General Santos City and in Cotabato City.
