DAVAO CITY, Philippines – The City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) announced the rerouting of traffic in some major routes in Davao City as the repair of the Talomo 2 Bridge would commence on April 14, Sunday.
CTTMO posted the advisory, including a map detailing the alternate routes on their Facebook page to inform the public while the repair of the said bridge is ongoing.
Last year, the Department of Public Works and Highways in Davao Region (DPWH-XI) confirmed the necessity of repair of the said bridge due to visible cracks linked to the passage of overloaded trucks.
According to DPWH-XI spokesperson Dean Ortiz, there will be major repairs on the bridge.
“We have to change the girders of the bridge, slabs, and the pavement,” Ortiz said. “We won’t really allow the bridge to be passed until it is done. We eye the completion of the repair in two or three months.”
