DAVAO CITY , Philippines – Golden crops like cacao, coffee, coconut, rice and cassava will be the focus of this year’s holding of the 20th Davao Agri Trade Expo slated on September 20-22 at SMX Lanang Davao, this city.
71 booths are expected to showcase their best crops at SMX for this year’s event, according to event organizer Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry(DCCI).
This year’s 20th Davao Agri Trade Expo, the largest and longest-running Agri trade expo in Southern Philippines, banners the theme: “Better Agri for every Juan,” highlighting the modern and innovative practices in agriculture.
DCCCI said it wants also to inspire the young entrepreneurs to familiarize and engage themselves in agriculture.
The government is encouraging small farmers or even regular people who own a parcel of agricultural land to involve themselves in the new innovative way of farming, the group added.
The event will be simultaneously held with Food Security and Infrastructure Conference on September 20 and Agri-business innovation conference on September 21.
The Agri Business Innovation conference will discuss about the advancement in technology for the agricultural sector. The confab will also showcase new inventions from different cities and countries that will help our local farmers increase their farming productivity.
DCCCI has invited Israel, Taiwan and New Zealand to share their best farming practices which Filipino farmers could benefit a lot.
The Mindanao has a potential to increase its breadth in agriculture and the government is now helping our small farmers to get the best farming practices, it said.(davaotoday.com)
