Drop in satisfaction survey of PNoy means discontent says group

Dec. 19, 2015

DAVAO CITY — A militant workers group said the recent drop in satisfaction rating of President Benigno Aquino III indicates “Pnoy will end his term in infamy”.

The social Weather Stations recorded a nine-percentage drop in Pres. Aquino’s satisfaction rating from +41 in September to +32 this December.

Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU) chairperson Elmer Labog, in a statement, said it is important to pay attention to the sudden rating decrease.

“The significant drop occurred without a major scandal rocking the Aquino administration,” said Labog.

“Politicking for the 2016 elections has only reminded people of what Aquino promised during the 2010 elections and how these promises remain unfulfilled on the eve of another election,” he said.

“The December 2015 SWS survey is another indication that Aquino will end his term in infamy. Calls to make him accountable for his grave crimes to the Filipino workers and people are bound to become louder,” said Labog.

The survey, conducted from December 5-8, found 58 percent satisfied, 16 percent undecided, and 26 percent dissatisfied with Pres. Aquino’s performance.

Meanwhile, Labog added that presidential candidate Mar Roxas’ constant invocation of “daang matuwid” could only “force Filipinos to ask whether they are better off now than they were five years ago.”

“The SWS survey shows that for many Filipinos, the answer is a resounding ‘no,'” he said. (davaotoday.com)
