DAVAO CITY, Philippines – Technology experts, entrepreneurs, and enthusiasts will come together for the launch of Geeks Unplugged on July 14 at Costa Marina, Samal.
A localized version of the Boracay ‘Geeks on the Beach,’ the social gathering will provide a platform for technology communities in Davao.
“This is the first and largest Davao meet-up of tech communities. It is a one-day intense networking event with no-nonsense discussions, demos and interaction among attendees on the latest trends in technology, innovation and business opportunities,” Geek Unplugged coordinator Karen Bangoy said.
The paid event, according to Holger Hahn, one of the organizers for the event, is community-driven and is intended for professionals in the technology and non-technology industries since technological applications continually become integral in various jobs and work settings.
Experts, including Womenpowered Institute Founder and entrepreneur, Mary Rose Ofianga, Onerent UX Designer and Space-Lab Co-founder, Marx Consuegra, Createlabz Founder and CEO, Ian Fel Larioza, 10UP Engineer and WordPress Developer, Dreb Cozo Bits, have been invited to discuss table topics varying from digital entrepreneurship to mobile and web technology.
Aside from pro-active discussions, the event would also be an avenue for expanding networks among technology businesses and communities within the city and the region.
Primary organizers of the event include the Davao Linux Users and the Womenpowered Institute. Registration amounts to approximately P1,800.00 with available student discount and is accessible via the event’s webpage. (davaotoday.com)
