DAVAO TODAY, Philippines – The City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) has announced the closure of roads and the alternative routes for the upcoming Pasko Fiesta activities.
On Thursday, CTTMO Chief S/Supt. Dionisio C. Abude (RET) in a press conference said the early announcement of the closure of roads is intended to ensure that the public has early knowledge of the affected routes this coming December 21 and 22 at 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. for the Lamdag Parada and Banda Dasig or Sayaw sa Pasko.
There will be a closure of roads in the streets of Padre Gomez, Faura, Zamora, Pag-asa, Mabini, Rizal, Ilustre, and some parts of San Pedro for all vehicles.
Abude added that the route of the parade is Roxas Avenue left turn to Claro M. Recto Avenue right turn to Bonifacio Street, left turn to Pelayo Street and left turn to San Pedro Street.
A re-routing scheme will also be implemented on December 23, 2018, starting 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. for the Pasko sa Daba Daba.
CTTMO chief said that alternative routes for vehicles coming from the north is Jose P. Laurel to Quirino Avenue to McArthur Highway; J.P Laurel Ave. to R. Castillo Street to Leon Garcia Street to Quezon Boulevard to Quimpo to McArthur Highway; JP Laurel Avenue to Cabaguio Ave. to Leon Garcia Street to Quezon Boulevard to Quimpo Boulevard to McArthur Highway.
While vehicles from the south may take alternative routes in McArthur Highway to Quirino Avenue to JP Laurel Avenue; McArthur Highway to Magallanes (Pichon) Street, to Quezon Boulevard; McArthur Highway to Quimpo Boulevard.
Abude also reminded the public that vehicles coming from Claveria St. going to Ponciano Street are advised to use CM Recto Avenue to Magsaysay Extension to Ponciano Street and CM Recto to Magsaysay Extension to Madrazo-Quirino Avenue.
He added that for the Yugyugan sa Pasko Fiesta, Tugtugan sa Pasko Fiesta and Torotot Festival events the CTTMO is announcing a NO Entry for all vehicles traversing along San Pedro Square in San Pedro coming from corner Bolton Street to Pichon St., cor. San Pedro to Claveria St., corner Rizal Street to Bolton Street and corner Rizal to Ponciano Street.
Abude also reminded the establishment owners not to allow parking along the identified roads for safety and traffic. (davaotoday.com)
